Shantou Lianfeng Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was established on May 30, 2019, and is located in the Yangtiao Garden Industrial Zone, Gangtou Village, Yanhong Town, Chenghai District, Shantou City. The company has a registered capital of 32 million yuan. It was jointly founded by the two provincial-level agricultural leading enterprises—Shantou Lianfeng Frozen Food Co., Ltd. and Shantou Lianfeng Fishmeal Co., Ltd.—along with their original founder(s) and (family) shareholders, all of whom are also owners of these nationally recognized high-tech enterprises. The company primarily focuses on integrating and advancing biotechnology research and development, as well as the commercial operations of urban solid waste management—including sweeping, collection, and transportation—as well as the comprehensive utilization of such waste for producing organic fertilizers and animal feed. Additionally, it specializes in the resourceful treatment and recycling of animal by-products, turning them into valuable resources. The project is planned to occupy approximately 30 mu of land owned by the company itself, with a total investment of 65 million yuan—excluding the cost of land acquisition.
Based on the implementation of the revised "Circular Economy Promotion Law" dated November 14, 2018, the "National Plan for the Construction of Harmless Treatment Facilities for Urban and Rural Domestic Waste during the 12th Five-Year Period," issued by the General Office of the State Council on April 19, 2012, and the "Implementation Plan for the Domestic Waste Sorting System" jointly released by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, enterprises are encouraged to follow principles such as waste reduction and resource utilization. By implementing domestic waste sorting, we can effectively improve urban and rural environments, promote resource recovery and recycling, accelerate the development of a "resource-efficient and environment-friendly society," and enhance the quality of new urbanization as well as the level of ecological civilization—thus aligning with broader policy frameworks guiding related industry development. With this in mind, the company is now applying to build and operate a project focused on the harmless and resource-based treatment of kitchen waste.

In June 2019, the company established the "R&D Team for Harmless Treatment of Kitchen Waste," led by General Manager Lin Qiaxi along with the laboratory’s technical team. The team conducted practical investigations and integrated analyses of existing domestic and international resources related to kitchen waste management. Through extensive learning, research, and field visits, they systematically compared and categorized various kitchen waste disposal technologies available worldwide. These technologies primarily include landfilling, incineration, anaerobic digestion, aerobic composting, direct drying for animal feed production, wet hydrolysis, and microbial/insect-based biological conversion methods. After carefully evaluating and drawing from these approaches, combined with an in-depth analysis of the specific conditions in Chenghai District as well as the company’s mature, proven process technology pathways and existing production/sales resources, our company has decided to adopt a superior treatment approach: "Kitchen Waste Pre-treatment + Black Soldier Fly Biological Conversion + Feed-Based Comprehensive Utilization and Collaborative Disposal Method (utilizing microbial enzymatic conversion technology)." The project is now set to move forward with construction. The total planned investment is approximately RMB 65 million (excluding land costs), with a proposed site area of about 30 mu (owned by the company). The facility will have a daily processing capacity of 150 to 200 tons of kitchen waste.
